Purchasing/ Finance Officer
Brief description

A Purchasing/Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial and procurement operations of an organization.

Tasks
  • Developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures that ensure the organization acquires goods and services in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Managing the procurement process, including conducting market research, soliciting bids, negotiating contracts, and monitoring supplier performance.
  • Overseeing the organization's budgeting and financial reporting processes, including preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and providing
  • financial guidance to other departments.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers, including negotiating pricing and payment terms.
  • Managing the organization's accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and collecting payments from customers.
  • Developing and implementing financial strategies to improve the organization's financial performance.
  • Monitoring and analyzing financial trends and making recommendations to senior management on ways to improve financial performance.
  • Collaborating with other departments, including operations and marketing, to ensure that financial and procurement goals are aligned with the overall strategic goals of the organization.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including preparing reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Abide to health and safety procedures and policies of Dakar Cartons Ltd
  • Any other task required from you by management.
  • Meticulous filing/archiving of all documentation
  • Perform supplier evaluations
  • Research on new potential suppliers and get new quotes
Qualifications and requirements
  • At least 1 year experience in the field.
  • Minimum HSC
  • ACCA level 1 would be an advantage
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail

Working conditions
  • Normal working hours are from 07:00 to 17:00.
  • Required to work on Saturdays and overtime if and when needed.
  • You are on a probation period of 1 year after which you will be employed by the company should the company be satisfied with your performance.
