Trust them because you trust us! Do you wonder how our boxes are made? Allow us to explain. Welcome behind the scenes of Dakri cardboard boxes!

1 – Raw material
Strong and long-lasting products are a priority when we think of this step. But Dakri also views the solidity of a product as an equally important aspect as its environmental impact! This is why we choose sustainable, quality raw materials. We therefore exclusively use FSC-certified kraft paper, which means that it has been obtained from sustainably managed forests.
We also use tapioca glue and, overall, favour as many natural products as possible. We do so because we always keep in mind our products’ biodegradation.
Water-based inks are also crafted in-house for consistent colour payoff and guaranteed homogeneity.
2 – Design
Various factors should be taken into consideration when choosing a type of cardboard, whether it is single-wall, double-wall or reinforced, or even which type of flute. One could, for instance, bear in mind its final purpose: will it wrap, protect, or pack heavy goods? Another key aspect is the desired longevity of the product: will it be used only once to carry food or produce, or does it need to stand the test of time, for example in the case of storage boxes or other boxes that have to withstand long transportation and stocking times? Aesthetics and ergonomy are also a few of many other criteria which come into play and allow our team to find the best solutions, tailoring them to the client’s needs. The latter can even choose from an array of existing models, or opt for bespoke designs to accommodate their unique requirements, and these new designs will be tested before the presentation of a prototype.

3 – Strength tests
This step directly speaks to the quality and longevity of our products, especially when it comes to packaging for goods that are destined to export, stock rooms or to go through several handling stages. Indeed, our cardboards are consistently tested for proven efficiency and even performance. We namely put 6 properties of our cardboard boxes to the test:
bursting force (when boxes are filled),
edge crush (in case of shocks and piling up),
water resistance of the gluing,
Cobb sizing (change in the product’s weight when exposed to water), paper grammage and compression.

4 – Production
Consistency is key! Coming to us means that you can expect a smooth experience, and even outcomes, because our machines guarantee it.
The corrugator : This machine which looks like a steam roller allows us to make our own cardboards, thus allowing us to tailor them to the client’s specific requirements!
The cutting machine : Does its job neatly and precisely, regardless of the chosen format or shape.
The wide-format flexo printing press : a very long word for a colourful and speedy machine which does a fine job… Up to 200 boxes per minute!
