The Mauritian company Dakri Cartons LTD, specialised in the manufacturing of carton packaging, is developing its sales in Reunion Island and the surrounding region of the Indian Ocean, especially in the agro food industry.
Already established in Reunion Island, Dakri Cartons LTD, wants to strengthen its position in the islands of the Indian Ocean – Reunion Island, Madagascar, Mayotte, Seychelles – and also extend it to Southern Africa.
With 30 years’ experience in the conception and manufacturing of corrugated carton boxes in Mauritius, the family business created by Hanif Dakri, now headed by Nazir Dakri and his sisters Somaya and Aysha, has grown until becoming the leader of customized packaging solutions in Mauritius . The factory is now located in Petite Riviere since 2015 in a renovated plant with modern installations.
Having produced more than 25 million boxes in 2018 with more than 3000 references sold each year to small and large companies, the company is still looking to grow in this region.
By reinforcing the business relations with Reunion Island, Dakri Cartons LTD hopes to contribute to the development of economic exchanges between the two islands and facilitate access to agro food products made in Reunion to the Mauritian consumers.

Two new types of packaging
Dakri Cartons Ltd is launching two new types of packaging this year to support its ambitions of developing internationally. Both of these products are very specific. The first product, the reinforced carton, uses a heavier grammage of paper and strengthen the box during transport and protect more fragile and heavier content. The second new product launched is waxed carton: waterproof boxes, more suitable to temperature changes and remains intact, especially when it is stocked in cold room.
