Cardboard sheets and carton products are made from kraft paper, which is made from wood pulp. It is therefore essential to know from where the timber that is used in this process comes. At Dakri Cartons, creating sustainable carton packaging is part of our mission. Adequate management of forests enables their long-term viability while increasing the forests’ economic potential. It prevents irreversible deforestation, which has negative social and environmental impacts. One of the principles of the Forest Stewardship Council ™, for instance, is that forest stewards must identify and uphold any rights of ownership that indigenous people have on a particular forested area.
