Single wall or double wall, perforated tray or fruit tray, Regular Slotted Cardboard box (RSC) or die-cut… what is the optimal carton packaging for your products?
What do you intend to pack in the cartons?
First of all, it should be noted that two choices are available: using existing models or developing your own customised carton packaging. Several questions must be asked. What type of product will be packaged, how many products will each box contain, and what will be the life cycle of your cardboard packaging?
The type and weight of the product will enable us to create the ideal carton packaging. You will have to choose the thickness and type of wall:
- Simple wall for content weighing less than 12kgs, such as pizzas, cakes and other ready-to-use packaging and,
- Double wall if the weight varies beyond 12kg, as is the case for textiles and exports.
Dimensions, regular carton box and die-cut boxes
The number of products per package will determine dimensions: the length and width depend on the alignment of the products in the package. The height depends on the product and the stacking of several products. Be sure to check whether a Regular Slotted Cardboard box (RSC) is suitable or whether you require customised carton boxes. RSC boxes are identifiable by their bottom flaps and their lids, which are equal and meet in the middle. These appendages can then be adequately taped to close the box.
The corrugated fluting of your box
The life cycle of the packaging will indicate the optimal type of fluting: will the packages be stored in a shed or handled and sent in containers, will they be transported in a way that risks weakening the contents? Will the packages be stack atop each other? These are the general considerations that will help us choose the ideal fluting and paper that should be used for your cardboard packaging.

The aesthetics of your cardboard packaging
Once the packaging is formed and its characteristics selected, we have to work on the exterior appearance. To deliver the required aesthetics, attention to detail is crucial. Dakri Cartons offers all types of printing on one or more sides with one, two or three colours. Our graphic department will work according to your recommendations and requirements in order to properly represent your visual identity. This is done by adapting pre-existing graphic elements or by proposing new ones, which are adapted to the cardboard packaging and its specificities. The expertise of the printing department ensures the same colour for every print and new order thanks to the use of the latest technologies.
Assembly of the cardboard box: glue or staples?
Finally, in the last step of assembly you will choose between staples or glue. Glue is used in the majority of cases. Staples are used for particularly thick boxes or packages containing very heavy and very fragile products. All these parameters must be selected to perfect the most appropriate cardboard packaging for the needs of various industries. Evidently, we also make packaging for smaller companies. The sales representatives are able to accompany the customer throughout his process to choose the best product.
